Job Description Summary
The Facilities Sustainable Capital Project Manager serves as a client-facing C&W lead responsible for advancing customers Facility Sustaining Capital program through disciplined project governance, transparent reporting, proactive stakeholder alignment, and sustainability-minded capital planning. This role partners with the customer, C&W IFM, Technical Services, SPO, P&P, Finance, Procurement, EHS, and site teams to identify, approve, deliver, and close sustaining capital projects that improve asset reliability, operational continuity, safety, compliance, cost performance, and long-term environmental value.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead C&W’s day-to-day coordination of Facility Sustaining Capital projects across intake, validation, planning, procurement, execution, commissioning, closeout, and operational handoff.
- Partner with the customers stakeholders to confirm business need, funding path, project priority, approval requirements, scope boundaries, and expected client value.
- Develop and maintain project charters, scopes of work, ROM estimates, schedules, budget forecasts, risk registers, stakeholder maps, and escalation plans.
- Coordinate with IFM, Technical Services, P&P, SPO, Finance, Procurement, EHS, vendors, and site leadership to ensure project execution aligns with the customers requirements and C&W delivery standards.
- Support vendor engagement, bid coordination, proposal review, purchase order tracking, change order management, invoice validation, and project documentation in alignment with applicable procurement processes.
- Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, sustainability benefits, and client expectations; escalate risks early with clear recommendations and decision points.
- Facilitate project meetings, maintain action logs, prepare executive-ready updates, and communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and required actions to C&W and the customer leadership.
Sustainability and Capital Planning Focus Areas
- Embed sustainability considerations into capital planning, including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, carbon impact, resiliency, maintainability, and lifecycle asset performance.
- Evaluate projects through a total cost of ownership lens, balancing first cost, operational cost, asset lifecycle, maintenance impact, risk reduction, and measurable sustainability return.
- Support development of multi-year capital planning inputs, including end-of-life asset replacement, reliability improvements, safety and compliance needs, and opportunities that support the customers operational and sustainability objectives.
- Partner with C&W Technical Services, IFM, SPO, and the customers stakeholders to assess project opportunities, validate assumptions, and prioritize investments based on risk, value, and business continuity.
- Track realized benefits and lessons learned, including cost avoidance, energy or utility impact, operational improvements, asset reliability, and opportunities for standardization across sites.
Governance, Reporting, and Controls
- Maintain the capital project tracker as the primary source of truth for project status, milestones, budget visibility, risks, approvals, and required stakeholder actions.
- Provide consistent portfolio-level reporting to support C&W and the customers governance forums, leadership reviews, funding discussions, prioritization decisions, and monthly client updates.
- Apply project controls for budget forecasting, CapEx and OpEx classification support, contingency tracking, procurement status, schedule adherence, change management, and issue resolution.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and organized, including scopes, quotes, bid summaries, approvals, purchase orders, invoices, job reports, commissioning records, operational readiness materials, and closeout packages.
- Identify trends, delivery risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities to strengthen FSC governance, project consistency, and cross-functional accountability.
Key Stakeholder Partnerships
- The customer and Regional Workplace Leads: Align project priorities, funding needs, operational expectations, site strategy, business continuity considerations, and acceptance requirements.
- C&W IFM and Site Facilities Teams: Provide operational insight, site access coordination, maintenance requirements, shutdown planning, vendor coordination, and operational readiness support.
- C&W Technical Services and Engineering: Validate technical requirements, asset condition, design intent, standards alignment, commissioning needs, system performance, and risk mitigation.
- C&W P&P and SPO Teams: Coordinate transition points where projects intersect with construction, space planning, moves, workplace changes, or broader portfolio initiatives.
- Finance and Procurement: Support budget tracking, cost classification, PO status, bid process coordination, invoice review, and fiscal-year delivery planning.
- EHS, Sustainability, Vendors, and Contractors: Ensure safe execution, compliance with site requirements, sustainability objectives, quality delivery, and timely resolution of field issues.
Required Capabilities
- Strong client-facing project management capability across scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, procurement coordination, stakeholder alignment, and change control.
- Working knowledge of integrated facilities management, sustaining capital, building systems, asset lifecycle planning, construction coordination, commissioning, and operational handoff.
- Ability to translate technical, financial, and operational information into concise leadership updates, client-ready recommendations, and decision-focused reporting.
- Understanding of sustainability principles, lifecycle value, energy and resource efficiency, environmental compliance, resiliency, and maintainability.
- Ability to navigate C&W and the customer governance forums, procurement expectations, approval pathways, escalation processes, and cross-functional operating models.
- Proactive ownership mindset with strong communication, vendor coordination, issue resolution, accountability, and ability to manage multiple projects across sites and stakeholders.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $ 97,750.00 - $115,000.00
