Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor or Associate to join our Asset Services team in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse commercial property portfolio, working closely with investors, landlords and occupiers to deliver exceptional property management services.

You will play a key role in enhancing asset performance, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the highest standards of operational and financial management. The role offers significant client exposure, autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of our market-leading Asset Services business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial properties, driving operational excellence and maximising asset value.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, occupiers, landlords, investors and key stakeholders.

  • Ensure full compliance with lease obligations, statutory regulations, health & safety requirements and risk management procedures.

  • Prepare and oversee property budgets, financial reporting, rent collection and service charge management.

  • Conduct regular property inspections and oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities.

  • Manage contractors and service partners to ensure effective delivery of services across the portfolio.

  • Support sustainability and ESG initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve asset performance and environmental outcomes.

  • Resolve property management issues efficiently while ensuring excellent levels of customer service.

  • Support business development activities and identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and win new instructions.

  • Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Proven experience within commercial property management, ideally managing multi-let or complex commercial assets.

  • Strong understanding of landlord and tenant matters, lease compliance and property management best practice.

  • Sound financial management skills, including budgeting, service charge administration and financial reporting.

  • Good knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk management and statutory compliance requirements.

  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance asset value and improve portfolio performance.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience building trusted client relationships.

  • Highly organised, proactive and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience mentoring colleagues or demonstrating leadership qualities is advantageous, particularly for Associate-level applicants.

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Real Estate, Property Management, or a related discipline.

  • MRICS qualified or working towards professional qualification preferred.

  • Full UK driving licence desirable.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and property management systems.
