Job Description Summary

Responsible to assist with the operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Perform general maintenance such as lighting, restroom equipment and door repairs without supervision
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance and operate facility systems as well as the well maintained appearance of all facilities and applicable equipment
  • Perform more specialized tasks such as diagnosing issues with air handlers, VAV boxes, fan power boxes and other HVAC related equipment (some training provided)
  • Capable of replacing ceiling tile, performing patch and paint services, and giving input to custodial services vendor.
  • Perform building inspections focused on aesthetics, and then turn these lists into an action plan for the clients approval.
  • Perform assigned function(s) assuring that required, requested and planned repairs, modifications, installations, renovations and other general maintenance activities are properly accomplished in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Perform all building hard surface maintenance and repair including walls, partitions, floors, ceilings, window wall assemblies, metal and wood features, etc and for miscellaneous equipment such as carts, dock equipment, etc.
  • Execute repairs, preventive maintenance and/or replacement of plumbing equipment / systems, fixtures, valves, piping, and other devices as required.
  • Perform building inspection duties, signage and painting work required for the facilities or equipment.
  • Maintain records, reports, recommendations, evaluations, etc., reflecting the conditions under which general building maintenance operations are performed.
  • Initiate the purchase of parts, materials, equipment, supplies etc., in accordance with company procedures and provide technical assistance when required to facilitate such purchases.
  • Assist as required and coordinate with all trades people and custodians in the performance of day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
  • Assure these tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work with other trade skill sets to complete work orders to trade standards and customer expectations. Willing to continue both formal and informal training in the present skill set to maintain the knowledge of the present and latest technologies.
  • Background in Fire Life Safety panels and equipment a plus
  • Knowledge or background in Building Automation Systems

Additional Functions:

  • Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and other equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be able to follow writing and verbal instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within a team-oriented environment.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Snow removal is required
  • Be part of a rotating on call schedule

Operating Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Training & Education Requirements:

  • High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Maintain knowledge in the latest equipment and technologies
  • Electrical, or HVAC License preferred however not required
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, math ability and a positive attitude
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role with demonstrated positive client interaction.

Other Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screen.
  • Must be capable to ascend/descent ladders and stairs for completing daily tasks.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted.

Additional Information

(Colorado only*) $30.00/hour + benefits.

*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $25.50 - $30.00
