Role Summary
The Transport Program Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management, strategic development, and operational oversight of all employee and corporate transportation services across India. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, robust data analytics, vendor management, and hands-on operational execution to ensure a safe, efficient, and cost-effective transport program.
Core Responsibilities
● End-to-End Program Management: Manage and oversee the entire employee transportation services program (shuttle services, cab pooling, etc.) across India, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
● Ad-hoc Car Rental Program: Manage the corporate car rental program for executive and business travel requirements, ensuring timely service and cost control.
● Policy & Documentation: Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive transport policies and procedures relevant to Indian regulations and internal best practices. Advise the client/leadership with best practices and innovative solutions for the region.
● Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategies for the continuous improvement of the transport program across India, focusing on efficiency, cost optimization, safety, and technology adoption.
● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders (Security, HR, Finance, Facility Management, Leadership) to drive efficiencies and alignment across transport-related initiatives.
● Feedback & Resolution: Establish a formal process to review employee feedback and swiftly provide resolution on transportation-related issues.
● Vendor Analysis: Conduct rigorous and continuous analysis of vendor performance based on contractual SLAs, key metrics (on-time performance, safety records, incident rates), and cost efficiency.
● Contract Management: Assist in contract negotiation and manage day-to-day vendor relationships to ensure compliance, quality of service, and accountability.
● Financial Management: Oversee the transport budget, including budget preparation, tracking, and managing the monthly invoicing process with high accuracy.
● Reporting: Prepare detailed operational weekly reports, as well as materials for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) for leadership.
● Data Profi ciency: Be well-versed with data management and possess hands-on experience of data analytics tools such as Tableau, G Suite (Google Sheets), Microsoft Excel, and Smartsheet to derive actionable insights from large datasets.
● Training: Develop content and train Security Operations Center (SOC) operators on managing and addressing transport-related queries, incident reporting, and capturing employee feedback effectively.
● Compliance: Ensure all transportation operations and vendor practices adhere to local, state, and PAN India legal and safety regulations.
Key Qualifi cations
● 5+ years in corporate transportation/logistics program management, preferably in a PAN India capacity.
● Communication: Profi cient communication skills (written and verbal) are essential for managing vendors, engaging employees, and presenting to senior leadership.
● Location/Operations: Must be based in Pune and be aware of PAN India operations and the diverse transportation challenges across different Indian cities.
● Technical Skills: Advanced profi ciency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas), Google Sheets, and dashboard creation using tools like Tableau or similar BI platforms.
● Mindset: A strong problem-solver with an analytical and process-driven approach to operational management.
● Own the entire fi nancial lifecycle, including detailed budget preparation and diligent tracking of expenses against budget forecasts.
● Manage and audit the monthly vendor invoicing process, ensuring absolute accuracy, reconciling service logs with vendor claims, and highlighting cost variances.
● Develop and maintain real-time operational dashboards to provide immediate visibility into program health.
