Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and management for the facilities organization at a specific location, set of buildings, or campus environment. The Facilities Manager is charged with the day-to-day implementation of policies, procedures, programs and workplace services delivery that provides a well-managed and well-maintained building. An emphasis of this role is placed on a positive response to the concerns and needs of the tenants, environmental health and safety, and quality programs, in coordination with the client's goals and objectives. This position coordinates the activities, financials, vendors and manpower required for current and future needs of the building and operations.

Job Description

  • The Staff shall be responsible, oversee and manage the Facilities Management, Operations, Maintenance, Repair and Minor Works of Mechanical and Electrical Services, Building and Other Facilities or Services in the Institute, including nominated contractors/sub-contractors and contractors appointed by the Institute.
  • He must have good knowledge of facilities management. Ability to plan and execute facilities management works. Ability to plan and prepare maintenance and project budgets.
  • He shall represent the Contractor in liaison with the Institute for all related matters in the premises.
  • Possess relevant experience as a Managerial or Supervisory position in facilities management of commercial and industrial premises. Attained WSQ Working at Height, Manager at highest level, and minimum Supervisor Level for other positions than the FM manager. Possessing a Fire Safety Manager Certificate would be an added advantage.
  • It is the onus of the Contractor to furnish or supply a copy of the contract to the Building Manager and his site staff and / or to fully explain the details of the contract.
  • He must be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the Institute, planning schedule and deploying of men at site.
  • He must be responsible, to coordinate, to work closely and report to the Institute’s person-in-charge in all related matters. This shall include the other Integrated Facilities Management contractors, and the Institute’s Administration and Facilities Management Departments.
