Job Description Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled HVAC Technician to support the maintenance and operation of facility systems. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment and supporting overall building maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on HVAC experience, knowledge of building automation systems, and a commitment to safety, compliance, and operational efficiency in a regulated environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and thermostats.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Respond promptly to work orders, alarms, and emergency maintenance requests.
- Operate and monitor building automation systems (BMS/BAS such as Metasys), ensuring proper system performance.
- Support daily facility operations, including system start-up/shutdown and sequence verification.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in CMMS in compliance with GMP standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with facilities engineering, reliability, and planning teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and projects.
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within scope.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, GxP, and company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and Job Hazard Analysis.
- Review and follow SOPs and work instructions to ensure safe and compliant execution of tasks.
- Maintain clean, safe work environments and proper housekeeping standards.
- Assist with seasonal system preparation and facility readiness.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; HVAC technical certification required.
- Minimum 3+ years of HVAC and building maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) and CMMS platforms.
- Familiarity with GMP environments and regulatory requirements (preferred).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, Lockout/Tagout, and Job Hazard Analysis.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and remain on feet for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of facility engineering disciplines (MEP systems).
- Experience with automation systems such as Siemens or Johnson Controls Metasys.
- OSHA certification or safety training.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $46.75 - $55.00
