Essential Responsibilities
Snow Removal Operations
- Operate plow trucks, snow blowers, skid steers, loaders, and other snow removal equipment to clear parking lots, roadways, drive lanes, and designated site areas.
- Perform manual snow removal activities using shovels and snow blowers around entrances, sidewalks, stairways, ramps, and other pedestrian walkways.
- Apply salt, sand, and de-icing materials to roadways, parking lots, and walkways to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snow and ice events, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and early morning call-outs.
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting maintenance needs or operational concerns to management.
- Follow established snow response plans, route assignments, and safety procedures.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members throughout snow events to ensure timely completion of work assignments.
General Facility Support
- Assist with site maintenance and light custodial duties as needed during periods without active snow events.
- Support cleaning and upkeep of building entrances, walkways, and common areas to maintain a professional appearance.
- Report hazardous conditions, property damage, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately to management.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and customer site requirements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate snow removal equipment, including plow trucks and related machinery.
- Availability to work an on-call schedule during the winter season and respond to weather-related events with little notice.
- Ability to work outdoors in severe winter weather conditions, including snow, ice, wind, and freezing temperatures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and shoveling up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong attention to safety, dependability, and attendance.
- Reliable transportation to report to assigned work locations during inclement weather.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial snow removal operations.
- Experience operating plow trucks, skid steers, loaders, tractors, or similar equipment.
- Prior experience in grounds maintenance, facilities services, landscaping, construction, or property maintenance.
- Knowledge of snow and ice management best practices and de-icing applications.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and shovel for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Work in outdoor environments exposed to varying weather conditions, including snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and low visibility.
- Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles and equipment multiple times throughout a shift.
