Position Summary
The Door Dock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and installation of loading dock equipment and commercial overhead doors. This role provides daily leadership to technicians, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, and serves as the primary escalation point for complex repairs and customer service issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead door dock technicians and service personnel.
- Schedule and coordinate service, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform and oversee repairs on loading dock levelers, dock shelters, dock seals, and vehicle restraints.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Service and repair commercial overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and related equipment.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure quality workmanship.
- Train, mentor, and support technicians in the field.
- Monitor safety compliance and enforce company safety standards.
- Maintain service records, reports, and work orders.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely project completion.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of door dock service and repair experience.
- Experience servicing loading dock equipment, dock levelers, dock shelters, dock seals, and overhead doors.
- Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Foreman, Supervisor, or Service Manager.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Experience managing crews, assigning work, and overseeing field operations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or industrial facilities.
- OSHA certification.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

- Proven leadership experience supervising technicians.
- Strong hands-on door dock and overhead door repair background.
- Capable of managing multiple service calls and technicians simultaneously.
- Safety-focused with excellent troubleshooting and organizational skills.
