Are you a hands-on maintenance professional looking for a stable role where you can make a real impact within a school environment?
Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Maintenance Officer to support a secondary college in Cranbourne North. This is a diverse, site-based role responsible for general maintenance, minor repairs, contractor coordination, and facilities support, helping to ensure a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors.
What You Will Do
- Perform general grounds and gardens maintenance duties including general gardening duties including sweeping/blowing debris from pathways and synthetic turf etc.
- Complete broad maintenance tasks as required (handyman duties) e.g., adjusting doors, changing light globes, emptying recycled paper bins around the school to the skip etc.
- Collect mail for the school from local Post Office
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Identifying and reporting hazards, defects and safety risks
- Managing maintenance requests through internal systems
- Coordinating contractors and monitoring their activities on site
- Assisting with grounds and outdoor maintenance as required
- Completing administrative duties, reports and work order updates
- Working collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, administration staff and contractors
- Participating in a rotating on-call roster as required
About you
- You would have an interest in a mixture of outdoor grounds work and indoor handyman work.
- Demonstrated experience working at critical sites/grounds.
- A common-sense approach and initiative
- Standard experience with Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to think in an autonomous fashion when needed.
- Self-motivated to enhance the school and business with a great attention to detail.
- Quality and continuous improvement focus.
- Victorian Driver’s license and technical qualifications in either mechanical or electrical fields.
- Working with Children’s Check and Police check – Mandatory
