Job Description Summary

The Licensed HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial facilities. The technician ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Description

  • Install, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including boilers, furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Test HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
  • Replace defective components such as motors, compressors, thermostats, and electrical controls.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members regarding repairs and recommendations.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.

Qualifications

  • Valid HVAC Technician License as required by state or local regulations.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of HVAC installation and service experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and controls.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and temperatures.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $40.22 - $47.32
