Job Description Summary

C&W Services is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Mobile Industrial Electrician (Journeyman) to support multiple client locations by performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation work on industrial machinery and equipment. This role involves traveling between customer sites to diagnose and resolve electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong industrial electrical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while providing exceptional service to our clients.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple client locations to perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation activities on industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, electro-mechanical, and control system issues on manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical systems, components, motors, motor controls, drives, sensors, relays, and associated industrial equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, control circuits, and automation systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on a variety of industrial equipment.
  • Conduct electrical tests using appropriate meters, instrumentation, and diagnostic tools.
  • Support equipment startups, modifications, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and other safety procedures while performing maintenance and repair work.
  • Document work performed, repairs completed, and recommendations for future maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent C&W Services positively while working at client facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, operations personnel, and management regarding equipment conditions and maintenance needs.
  • Participate in on-call, overtime, weekend, or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe and organized manner.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician certification, license, or equivalent documented industrial electrical experience as required by state or local regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience in manufacturing, distribution, processing, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Industrial electrical systems
    • Motor controls and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
    • Motors, transformers, relays, contactors, and control circuits
    • PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems
    • Electrical distribution systems up to 480V
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, and amp clamps.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout procedures, Arc Flash requirements, and electrical safety best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing service calls across multiple customer locations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in elevated locations, and perform work in industrial environments.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally between customer sites daily.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar industrial control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated material handling, conveyor systems, packaging equipment, robotics, or manufacturing machinery.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • NFPA 70E training certification.
  • Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $36.55 - $43.00
