Job Description Summary

The Revenue and Tax Manager is responsible for managing revenue accounting, tax compliance, statutory reporting support, and related controllership activities for the Philippines entities. The role ensures accurate and timely revenue recognition, compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, Philippine tax regulations, internal policies, and SOX requirements, while supporting month-end close, audit deliverables, and control remediation activities. This position is part of the Corporate Controllership, Finance Business Unit, is situated in the Philippines, and reports directly to the Finance Associate Director.

About the Role:

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports in accordance with IFRS/local GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and SEC reporting requirements, including quarterly financial reporting, is required due to the company’s listing on the US Nasdaq.
  • Manage tax compliance activities for Philippines entities, including BIR filings, tax schedules, reconciliations, tax audits, and coordination with external advisors where required.
  • Support internal, external, statutory, and tax audits by preparing required schedules, addressing auditor queries, and ensuring timely resolution of findings.

Controllership & Operational Support:

  • Provide controllership support over revenue, billing, receivables, tax, and related balance sheet accounts for the Philippines entities.
  • Review revenue contracts and arrangements to assess appropriate accounting treatment and ensure compliance with revenue recognition requirements.
  • Partner with business, legal, operations, and regional finance teams to resolve revenue, billing, tax, and intercompany matters.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reviews for revenue, tax, receivables, deferred revenue, contract assets/liabilities, and other assigned accounts, and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Strengthen internal controls over revenue recognition, tax compliance, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and regulatory standards.
  • Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including automation of revenue and tax reporting, dashboard development, and standardization of controllership processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in close timelines, audit readiness, tax documentation, revenue controls, and cross-functional issue resolution.

Business Partnering & Strategic:

  • Provide finance support to business and operational stakeholders on revenue, billing, collections, tax, and contract-related matters.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary on revenue trends, tax exposures, audit matters, balance sheet movements, and control issues for management review.
  • Monitor revenue performance, aging balances, tax positions, and related KPIs; analyze variances and escalate risks or issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with shared services teams to ensure timely billing, collections support, reconciliation completion, and SLA adherence.
  • Support cross-functional projects involving revenue processes, tax compliance, system enhancements, and operational efficiency.
  • Educate stakeholders on revenue recognition, tax compliance, documentation requirements, and control expectations.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Provide guidance to finance team members and shared services partners on revenue, tax, close, audit, and controllership matters.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, documentation discipline, and continuous improvement across revenue and tax processes.

About You:

  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles, financial reporting standards, Philippine tax regulations, and controllership processes.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS/local GAAP, US GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms, preferably Workday.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify control risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across business, finance, tax, legal, and shared services teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, ownership mindset, and commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification recognized in the Philippines is required.
  • Additional professional qualification or relevant training in taxation, revenue recognition, financial reporting, or controllership is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, tax, revenue accounting, audit, or controllership roles.
  • Proven experience managing revenue recognition, tax compliance, month-end close, reconciliations, and audit deliverables in a multinational or shared services environment.
  • Experience supporting statutory audits, BIR tax audits, SOX controls, financial reporting, and cross-functional finance projects is preferred.
