Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Project Engineer (Finishes) to lead and manage all architectural, interior fit-out, and finishing works for a large-scale hospital construction project in Bengaluru. The role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and delivering high-quality finishing works in compliance with project specifications, healthcare standards, budget requirements, and construction schedules. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in hospital, healthcare, hotel, commercial, projects and demonstrate expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams, specialist subcontractors, and complex stakeholder interfaces.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement detailed execution plans for architectural and interior finishing works.
  • Prepare area-wise and milestone-based finishing schedules aligned with the overall project programme.
  • Monitor progress against planned targets and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
  • Ensure timely completion of all finishing activities while maintaining quality, safety, and cost objectives.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, Contractors, architects, and MEP teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, room data sheets, and finish schedules for constructability and completeness.
  • Resolve design and site-related issues through effective coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely availability of approved drawings and technical documentation for execution.
  • Prepare procurement plans and material delivery schedules for finishing works.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing and delivery of approved materials.
  • Review material submittals, mock-ups, and samples for compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor material consumption, wastage, and storage practices at site.
  • Lead execution of architectural finishes including flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, painting, joinery, partition systems, and interior fit-out works.
  • Manage specialist subcontractors and ensure adherence to approved methodologies and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with MEP and medical equipment installation teams to ensure smooth interface management.
  • Drive productivity improvements and optimize resource deployment.
  • Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved specifications, quality standards, and healthcare requirements.
  • Establish benchmark areas and mock-ups for approval before large-scale implementation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits.
  • Monitor closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs), defects, and punch list items.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure safe execution of all finishing activities and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Participate in safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations as required.
  • Monitor project budgets related to finishing works and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Review subcontractor progress, measurements, and payment certifications.
  • Evaluate variations and change requests and provide recommendations to project management.
  • Coordinate completion and readiness of areas for testing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure timely closure of snag lists and punch points.
  • Support phased handover activities and preparation of project close-out documentation.
  • Ensure delivery of completed areas in a patient-ready condition.
  • Lead coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Escalate critical issues and recommend mitigation measures to senior management.
  • Foster collaborative relationships among project stakeholders.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • 10–12 years of overall experience in building construction projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing finishing works for hospital, healthcare, pharmaceutical, commercial, or institutional projects.
  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale projects with stringent quality and operational requirements.
