Position Summary
The Proposal Director for Valuation & Advisory (V&A) will play a pivotal role leading the preparation and submission of proposals. In this role, the Proposal Director will work with cross-functional team members to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and manage the proposal development process to ensure on-time delivery of compelling, compliant, and well-written proposals.
The position involves researching, writing, and producing a high volume of client-facing documentation on behalf of our company in support of an array of our services and specialties. This role will successfully communicate and collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders including V&A’s Chief Growth Office, Institutional Lead, Portfolio Lead, Regional, Practice and Advisory Leads and other subject matter experts (SMEs), as needed - and thus, is a highly visible role.
The Proposal Director should exhibit strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to generate creative ideas while working both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter, multitasker who works well under pressure, and follows through on tasks. We are looking for a strong team member who leads by example and keeps the team informed of changes and will champion proactive responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central point of contact on assigned proposals and guide responses on behalf of V&A leaders
- Oversee Proposal Specialist assigned to assist with proposal delivery.
- Analyze RFQs, RFPs and RFIs to create proposal outlines and development plans
- Direct proposal kickoff and debrief meetings, as well as prepare detailed proposal plans, schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices for all phases of proposal development.
- In coordination with leadership and SMEs, plan winning themes, value propositions, strengths, risk reducers, and differentiated solutions to initial proposal outline
- Work closely with leadership and SMEs to complete the formulation of “win strategies and themes” (taking into account strategic relationships, competitor intelligence, etc.) and ensure the message is articulated throughout the proposal
- Solicit leadership reviews and approvals during proposal development stage
- Monitor proposal content to ensure compliance to RFP requirements, evaluation criteria, and technical requirements
- Monitor bid boards for relevant competitive procurement opportunities, managing the bid opportunities pipeline and circulating opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders
- Research and gather information to include company “corporate” information, service line information, and other standard materials
- Maintain, augment and improve library of reusable components, templates, and processes to reduce response time and improve quality on future proposals
- Maintain tracking mechanism to monitor workflow and asses volume by displaying wins/losses
- Work with leadership to develop “Go/No-Go” system for proposal development
Proposal Writing
- Write persuasively, including executive summaries and other critical components of deliverables such as; past performance metrics, service line statistics and experience comments, role descriptions, and capturing actions from meetings with team members, and understanding of the business’ value proposition
- Strong aptitude for improving organization, flow, readability, completeness, and clarity of technical proposals
Post-Submittal Activities
- Debrief teams after proposal submittal
- Interview team members on successful or unsuccessful strategies and tactics,
- Facilitate a retrospective assessment on proposals, and refine future proposal strategies, process, templates and training
The Compensation for this position is: $127,500 - $150,000

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
