HVAC Estimator

SCOPE OF ROLE

Manage the end-to-end pricing and project delivery for Auckland clients and assist in the delivery of

works from quality quotes presented in a timely manner, to completion of jobs including project

reconciliation, Cost to completes, and financial application management.

Updating the quotes database, and pipeline of works programme with the support of the wider team for

your allocated portfolio(s).

Achievement of minor works/project revenue and margin targets for allocated accounts ($1.5m pa

and/or recoverable at 75%).

As outlined in the Financial Delegation Authority.

JOB PURPOSE

  • Achieve Minor and Major works/project revenue and margin targets
  • Price the Minor and Major works/projects using agreed pricing tools and protocols
  • Complete C&W Minor and Major works/projects review process and all associated approvals and sign
  • off prior to submission of quotes
  • Review and apply C&W contractual terms and conditions as part of the quote submission
  • Prepare quote/tender proposal and clarifications
  • Update the quote database
  • Identify and specify correct scope for the Minor and Major works/projects
  • Deliver Minor and Major works/projects to agreed quality, gross margin and timeframes with support
  • from the local teams and supervisors
  • Reconcile all projects accurately every month
  • Ensure compliance with the C&W Quality Management System
  • Assist as required on other client accounts to support the wider estimating team
  • Capture, quote and manage all variations to major and minor works.
  • Client liaison as required
  • Create and update when required project programs
  • Any other duties as required by your manager

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Achievement of revenue and margin targets and to return a minimum of 15% GM across the accounts
  • and projects
  • Achievement of quote approval targets
  • Quality of submissions
  • Timeliness of submissions
  • Use of the tendering estimating tools and protocols
  • Works delivered to standard and agreed timeframe
  • Accurate records are maintained
  • Accurate invoicing and project reconciliations submitted ensuring a positive cashflow
  • Client/customer relationship
  • Internal and external customer satisfaction

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of five year’s trade experience in a commercial maintenance environment, at least two of

which will include pricing and/or managing projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Trade qualified in either HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical or Carpentry
  • Commercial maintenance experience, ideally in a multi trade environment
  • Previous estimating experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Written communication skills, especially in preparing estimates
  • Client relationship building skills
  • Computer skills – word, excel, and Projects
