Role: Intern – Commercial Real Estate (GCC Focus)
We are seeking a proactive and analytically driven Intern to support research and business development initiatives focused on the growing appetite of Commercial Real Estate occupiers in Chennai, with a specific lens on Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The role offers hands-on exposure to market research, client engagement, and strategic advisory in one of India’s most dynamic office markets.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis
Develop a comprehensive, data-backed report on the growth of office space absorption by companies in Chennai over the past three years.
Analyze key demand drivers including sectoral growth, GCC expansion trends, talent availability, infrastructure development, and cost dynamics.
Assess the sustainability of current leasing momentum and provide a forward-looking view (1–3 years).
Track market trends, competitor activities, rental movements, vacancy trends, and new supply pipelines to support business strategy.
Occupier Mapping & Intelligence
Identify and profile established occupiers as well as new and emerging companies expanding in Chennai, with emphasis on GCCs.
Build and maintain a structured database of target companies and key decision-makers (Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Administration, Facilities, Workplace Strategy teams).
Conduct primary and secondary research to gather insights into occupier portfolios, expansion plans, and workplace strategies.
Coordinate and schedule meetings with identified occupiers in collaboration with the ATR South team and the Head – South India Hub.
Support and participate in client meetings/interviews to understand business outlook, real estate requirements, and medium-term plans (1–2 years).
Prepare structured questionnaires and capture actionable insights from stakeholder interactions.
Business Development Support
Translate research findings into compelling presentations and pitch materials for prospective clients.
Proactively identify and flag potential real estate opportunities arising from occupier expansion plans.
Support the team in lead generation and pipeline tracking aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
Desired Skills & Competencies
High ownership, curiosity, and willingness to engage with senior stakeholders
Interest in commercial real estate, workplace strategy, and GCC ecosystem
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and research capabilities with attention to detail
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability to create high-impact presentations
Structured thinking with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs
