Key Responsibilities
1. Fire & Life Safety Operations
- Monitor the operation and readiness of all fire protection and life safety systems.
- Ensure fire pumps, hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment are maintained in operational condition.
- Conduct regular inspection of fire protection equipment and identify deficiencies.
- Ensure fire exits, escape routes, emergency staircases and assembly points remain clear and accessible.
- Monitor fire panel alarms and coordinate immediate response to fire-related incidents.
2. Emergency Response
- Respond immediately to fire alarms, emergencies and other life-safety incidents.
- Lead the initial emergency response and coordinate with the Fire & Safety team.
- Coordinate with external emergency services such as the Fire Department, ambulance services and other authorities when required.
- Participate in emergency evacuation and rescue operations.
- Maintain emergency response readiness on a 24×7 basis through proper shift coordination.
3. Fire Safety Inspections
- Conduct routine fire safety inspections of buildings, plant rooms, electrical rooms, DG areas, kitchens, parking areas and other critical locations.
- Check fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, fire alarm devices, emergency lighting and other safety equipment.
- Identify unsafe conditions and initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain inspection checklists and records.
4. Fire Drills & Training
- Conduct periodic fire and emergency mock drills.
- Train security, housekeeping, engineering and other employees on basic fire safety and emergency procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and fire safety awareness sessions.
Ensure occupants are familiar with evacuation routes and assembly points.
