Job Title: Training Operations Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Maintenance, Training, and Onboarding Lead, overseeing maintenance operations, developing training programs, and facilitating a seamless onboarding experience for new employees. This multifaceted role aims to ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and a positive work environment through hands-on training and comprehensive onboarding facilitation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Training and Development

- Develop training plans for service technicians

- Provide onboarding support for C&W hires

- Facilitate hands-on training in safety protocols (LOTO, CPR/First Aid/AED, QEW, Aerial Lift)

- Curate additional hands-on training to familiarize new employees with equipment

Onboarding Facilitation

- Collaborate with the Hiring Manager to reach out to new employees upon readiness to hire

- Provide site overviews before Day 1 via BizOps Team Day 1 email

- Meet new employees at the entrance to ensure a smooth arrival

- Consolidate and submit new employee documents to the HR Team

- Facilitate attendance in New Employee Orientation and BizOps Intro calls

- Assist in obtaining Amazon Badges and setting up laptop access, including VPN

- Facilitate a 2-week onboarding Safety Training curriculum

- Support access to critical C&W and Amazon interfaces

- Ensure completion of Onboarding Learning Journey as required

- Coordinate with Snappy for the C&W new employee kit and initiate Zappo's orders

- Ensure a welcoming environment aligned with people-focused initiatives

Learning Solutions

- Provide coordination and administrative support in relation to talent and learning programs

- Coordinate learning registrations, attendee lists, and general organization for all learning interventions

- Organize and assist in developing learning manuals, pre-work, and course evaluation procedures (inclusive of multimedia visual aids and other educational materials)

- Participate in design and development sessions for new training programs, with responsibility to lead certain components depending on the project

- Partner with business groups and other Talent and Learning team members to create gap analyses in order to connect and help prioritize learning needs

- Drive solutions from a learner perspective with a focus on performance changes and results

- Partner with key stakeholders and vendors to ensure a holistic approach to solutions

- Work with third-party vendors contracted to develop learning solutions to provide feedback and instruction on course development

- Respond to and prioritize needs and internal customer requests, including those queries received in the Learning Americas email inbox

- Support instructor-led learning activities onsite or offsite as required

- Run regular and ad-hoc reports as needed to monitor both learning activity and budget spend

- Manage compliance including follow-up with field managers on upcoming training and completions and manage inbound communications including customer concerns

- Assign required Safety Training within the Learning Management System for all new hires on their first day of employment to ensure proper implementation of standard onboarding training

- Lead, manage, and improve the Safety Training function for all required programs and coursework

- Monitor and report on training activities and progress to leadership

Knowledge Management

- Develop, maintain, and provide continuous improvement to learning and knowledge management platforms for supported client groups, ensuring learning is organized, easy to find, and up-to-date

- Upload new courses and curate content within the Learning Management System (LMS) as appropriate throughout the year

- Develop marketing material and communications in conjunction with other team members to promote relevant courses or learning opportunities in a timely manner

- Produce and analyze relevant data and reports to share results and identify areas to improve

- Transform raw data into meaningful and engaging executive-style summaries and presentations

Additional Responsibilities

- Display professionalism in appearance and language

- Identify and train backup facilitators for PTO, sickness, and training flexibility

- Communicate with Hiring Manager on employee program expectations

- Ensure the Nodal Onboarding site is prepared for new employees

- Address any other assigned duties

Qualifications

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent (required)

- Associate's degree in Electronics or Industrial Maintenance (preferred)

- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Behavior, Instructional Design, or Human Resources (preferred)

Certifications

- Universal CFC certification (preferred)

- Additional certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or refrigeration systems is a plus

Experience

- 3–5+ years of experience in a maintenance, HR, and/or Learning role

- 5+ years of experience in automated conveyors and controls, preventive maintenance, and work order management

- Leadership and vendor management experience

Skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Expertise in using power/shop tools and test equipment

- Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills with attention to detail

- Public speaking skills – comfortable speaking to a large group either in-person or via web conference

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of HR systems (advantageous), in particular Workday Learning (LMS) and HCM

- Technical savvy / agility to learn new systems

- Knowledge of SharePoint, Web Design/Layout

- Knowledge of eLearning software (e.g., Articulate or Captivate)

- Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple competing deadlines

- Ability to work both in a team and independently

- Willingness to work with others around the world and develop a global mindset

- Knowledge of adult education theory and practice (preferred)

- Ability to effectively collect, analyze, evaluate, and prepare learning statistical data

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $ 76,500.00 - $90,000.00
