General Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description Summary
In accordance with C&W Services policies and procedures, this position performs routine maintenance duties including systems furniture assembly, moving, furniture repairs, basic facility equipment maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs on commercial buildings, mechanical systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities and other duties as assigned.
Job Description
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for adherence to the C&W Services site safety program and safe work practices
- Respond to customer requests as directed by Moves-Adds-Changes (MAC) Coordinator
- Ensure that preventative maintenance and corrective work orders assigned are completed and closed out in compliance with the provided schedule
- Assist in relocating boxes and furniture components
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Perform workstation cleaning for moves and requests as assigned
- Ability to perform ergo evaluations as directed
- Assembly, teardown and reassembly of systems furniture, panels and components
- Install electrical devices & cabling associated with systems furniture and other furniture components
- Complete room and event setups to client specifications
- Touch-up, refinishing, room painting and carpet tile replacements
- Assist with equipment inventory and review of appropriate preventive maintenance task and frequency
- Perform PM’s, troubleshooting, basic repairs, adjustments, and installations to mechanical equipment
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps and related fire protection system equipment as assigned
- Technicians must be capable of responding to a variety of calls such as, but not limited to, hot/cold issues, general plumbing, light carpentry work, basic electrical, piping repairs, lighting issues, minor leaks, proper disposal of any generated waste.
- Responds to building system alarms and problems to minimize equipment or system damage and potential downtime
- Responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the entire facility including all systems and equipment
- Ability to perform work independently after being given specific instructions
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper safe working condition
- Keeps work areas in neat and orderly condition
- Ensure contractual Service Level Agreements are met and work towards continuous improvement of Key Performance Indicators
PERFORMANCE GOALS:
- Safety – ensure C&W Services safety policy is implemented and safety program goals are met
- Cost – adherence to expense policies and procedures
- Quality – meet annual goals for callbacks, customer service issues
- Delivery – follow work order and services delivery processes – meet response and completion time targets
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Experience with office furniture systems preferred but not required
- Ability to competently complete reports, and maintain equipment documentation.
- Ability to write procedures, interpret and apply policy. Current state driver’s license with clean driving record
- High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience
- Must have flexibility to work overtime and be included in the “on-call” scheduled rotation, as dictated by the needs of the facility
- Able to use hand tools, test equipment and ability to read schematics
- Able to understand basic systems operations, respond to equipment alarms, and troubleshoot equipment failures
- Must be able to use personal computers, building automation systems, CMMS, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to effectively communicate to management and client representatives
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to perform duties under the following environmental conditions up to and over 1/3 of time at work: office environment that may include conversations, interruptions, temperature variations or furniture warehouse
- This position requires extensive walking on concrete and commercially carpeted floor surfaces,
- Assembly and moving of furniture may require stooping, crawling, and/or lifting.
- Occasional off-site travel for meetings and/or training is required

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $29.75 - $35.00
