EMEA Process Excellence Lead

Job Description Summary

The EMEA Process Excellence Lead supports the EMEA Controllership organization by providing technical accounting guidance and leading process improvement projects in assigned accounting areas. The role combines strong IFRS and local GAAP knowledge with practical process design skills, documentation capabilities, and the ability to independently run improvement initiatives. This position helps ensure consistent accounting treatment across EMEA entities, supports statutory compliance, and contributes to building more efficient, well documented, and audit ready processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Accounting Support

  • Provide technical accounting guidance to the EMEA Controllership COE and Country Controllers on IFRS and local GAAP topics.
  • Research accounting questions and prepare clear summaries, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of technical memos and audit‑ready materials for internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure that accounting processes follow group policies and statutory requirements.

2. Support in Complex Accounting Areas

  • Assist in selected complex accounting processes such as impairment testing, lease accounting, or tax‑related reconciliations.
  • Support statutory reporting activities by reviewing documentation and helping ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to audit readiness by improving documentation quality and control steps.

3. Process Excellence & Project Ownership

  • Lead assigned process‑improvement projects end‑to‑end, including:
    • Understanding the current (as‑is) process,
    • Identifying gaps, inefficiencies, or unclear responsibilities,
    • Designing the future (to‑be) process,
    • Preparing RACI matrices, process maps, and documentation,
    • Supporting implementation and change management.
  • Ensure redesigned processes embed the correct accounting treatment and support accurate statutory and group reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Tax, Treasury, Internal Controls, Global Accounting Policy) to ensure alignment.
  • Support system implementation projects and participate in related training activities including planning, testing, process alignment, user training, and go‑live support.

4. Standardization & Knowledge Sharing

  • Support the harmonization of accounting practices and documentation across EMEA.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, templates, and guidance materials.
  • Provide training or explanations to controllership teams on technical topics or new processes.
  • Contribute to building a central knowledge base for recurring accounting topics.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CPA, or similar qualification is an advantage.
  • • 4+ years of experience in operational or statutory accounting, ideally within a multinational environment, with exposure to the areas listed bellow
  • Solid experience in operational or statutory accounting within a multinational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with multiple local GAAPs is a plus.
  • Experience working with auditors on accounting topics.
  • Ability to understand processes end‑to‑end and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with a willingness to deep‑dive into assigned areas.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment.
