Job Description Summary

The Finance & Property Operations Officer supports the delivery of accurate financial processing, reporting, and operational compliance across the property portfolio. This role is responsible for payment runs, bank reconciliations, invoice management, and ensuring adherence to internal controls (including SOX). The position also partners closely with business teams, outsourced providers, and internal stakeholders to maintain high standards of financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. Australian Citizenship is required due to government‑related account requirements and security obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Processing & Reporting

  • Funds Request & Invoicing — Prepare Funds Request Reports and invoices in line with contract requirements.

  • Reimbursement Reconciliation — Reconcile reimbursement invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Payment Runs — Manage revenue and expenditure payment runs, including processing batched bank payments.

  • Bank Reconciliations — Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.

  • Creditor & Aging Review — Review Creditor Aging and Bank Reconciliation items in line with KPI expectations.

Compliance & Controls

  • SOX Compliance — Ensure adherence to SOX requirements and internal control structures.

  • Maintain documentation and audit‑ready records for all financial processes.

  • Support internal and external audit activities as required.

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Support

  • Process Standardisation — Drive efficiency and productivity through improvements to processes, workflows, and reporting.

  • Partner with business units, property teams, and support functions to resolve issues and improve financial accuracy.

  • Collaborate with outsourced service providers and monitor their performance against agreed standards.

Experience & Capability Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable experience, including invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting principles.

  • Experience preparing bank reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.

  • Exposure to SOX or similar internal control frameworks is highly desirable.

Professional Experience

  • Previous experience in a finance operations, property finance, or shared services environment is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with outsourced providers and managing service performance.

  • Demonstrated experience in process ownership, change, and continuous improvement.

Other Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship (mandatory).

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
