About the Role

• Fly unmanned aircraft (UA) safely and professionally for building inspections, site surveys, and other operational tasks as assigned.
• Ensure all flights are carried out in full compliance with CAAS regulations, internal SOPs, risk assessments, and approved flight plans.
• Prepare necessary documents such as CAAS activity permits and site-specific Permit-To-Work (PTW) forms ahead of operations.
• Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments on-site before each flight to ensure all team members understand the mission and safety protocols.
• Work closely with Visual Observers and Ground Crew to ensure operations run smoothly and safely from start to finish.
• Step in to support the team as a Visual Observer or Ground Crew member when needed.
• Perform routine pre- and post-flight equipment checks to ensure drones and payloads are functioning properly.
• Conduct site recces to assess flight conditions, including identifying risks, evaluating line of sight, and checking for potential obstacles.
• Help set up and secure flight areas, including cordoning off zones and maintaining public safety throughout the mission.
• Set up and pack down drone equipment properly at each job site.
• Perform basic maintenance, updates, and calibration on drones and batteries to keep equipment in top condition.
• Log all flight data, checklists, and mission reports accurately after every operation.
• Report any incidents, near-misses, or technical issues promptly for investigation and follow-up.
• Assist in gathering visual data or site materials needed for reporting and post-processing work.

About You

• Minimum Higher Nitec in an engineering discipline.
• Valid UAPL (Class A <25kg) issued by CAAS.
• At least 1 year experience operating drones in urban or industrial environments preferred.
• Familiarity with CAAS UA regulations, permit processes, and operational risk management.
• Physically fit to work outdoors and carry drone equipment.
• Comfortable working on weekends or public holidays as per project needs.
• Valid Class 3 driving license is advantageous.
