Job Description Summary

The Project Manager for the EMEA Innovation Team will be responsible for managing and driving the successful planning and execution of projects across the group This role will focus on project management, portfolio management, team coordination, leadership reporting and team development. This role will ensure that projects align with business goals, are planned and resourced effectively and deliver measurable value. The Project & Portfolio Manager will report directly to the Head of Operations, EMEA Innovation and will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations and effective project execution. This is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic and skilled team in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a single view of Innovation inflight activities and their respective status, delivery dates etc.

  • Manage technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

  • Provides direct line management & guidance for a Business Analyst

  • Oversee and coordinate the project work of the Data Science & Engineering, Automation and Business Intelligence teams using DevOps tools for planning & tracking the technical deliverables of the project.

  • Co-ordinate changes to planned delivery dates / root cause analysis/ ensure communications are managed/ Stakeholders managed

  • Support the creation of the Innovation Roadmap and ensure it is kept up to date

  • Coordinate the prioritization of initiatives in “the parking lot” and manage the feed into delivery within the relevant Innovation team

  • Ensure each initiative has an agreed delivery approach / delivery estimation framework

  • Manage interdependencies across the portfolio

  • Responsible for maximizing resource allocation based on resource availability and prioritized initiatives, identifying conflicts/gaps

  • Oversees the production of management documents (Project Charter, Resource plan etc.)

  • Ensures initiatives have agreed governance structures / ensure consistency across portfolio/ standardize governance framework for Innovation

  • Co-ordinate and support mitigation management for key risks and issues across portfolio.

  • Provide regular status updates and reports to the Head of Innovation, Head of Analytics, and Head of Operations as well as other key stakeholders.

  • Ensure effective resource planning, risk management, and dependency tracking across projects.

  • Foster a high-performance team culture, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and knowledge-sharing.

  • Train, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring they have the tools and skills to succeed in their roles.

  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project execution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years Project Manager experience

  • Experience managing multiple projects & / or portfolio of projects.

  • Fluent in English, with exceptional communication & leadership skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud applications

  • Experience using Agile Development (SCRUM) & bug/issue tracking software including Azure DevOps

  • Other tools like Smartsheet’s an advantage.

  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data analytics platforms, with a solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes & SQL advantageous but not required

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
